It was with great sadness that the club learned today of the passing of our Club President Brian Nolan.
Brian gave a lifetime of service, over eight decades, to our club and the wider GAA community.
He had many roles, as a manager, selector, administrator and above all as a leader.
Brian worked tirelessly and with enthusiasm especially during difficult times when his leadership ensured that GAA continued in Foxrock, Cornelscourt and surrounding areas.
While Brian had many achievements from his hard work, his biggest one was in setting the culture and ethos for the club.
He made every member, new or old, feel valued and welcomed and his positivity and kindness set the tone for the club.
Along with his lovely late wife, Rosaleen, they embodied this culture and for many decades they were the glue which kept our club together.
They were also the most dashing and glamourous couple in the club and were famed for the many social events that they arranged.
While Brian was very proud of the Geraldines, undoubtedly his greatest source of pride was in his family.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Fionnuala, Jonathan, Brian, their partners and children and the extended family.
All of us will remember and miss his good humour, pleasant disposition and his many acts of kindness.
We give thanks for Brian, for all of his hard work and for being a friend to all of us.
May he now rest in eternal peace.
